We are delighted to announce that for July, our 'Venue of the Month' will be the fabulous Chester Racecourse! A racecourse, not only steeped in history, but also renowned for its style, class and inimitable racetrack.

Established in 1539, Chester Racecourse is the oldest operational racecourse in the world!

With thousands of racegoers and guests alike, swarming into this formidable track each year, there is no surprise that Chester is deemed one of the most iconic and unforgettable racecourse there is to attend.


Chester Racecourse, fondly known as ‘The Roodee,’ is a dynamic fusion of ancient heritage and modern elegance. Boasting a rich collection of history, this iconic racecourse, known for its agility and dynamism, hosts a diverse range of events throughout the year. 

The racecourse’s position in the city makes race meetings at Chester very popular, as the 65-acre track lies on the banks of the River Dee, and is surrounded by a multitude of hotels, restaurants and bars. Due to the venues prime location, the grounds serve not only race fixtures, but also various other events throughout the year. From live concerts to food festivals, Chester Racecourse has everything for all, creating a hub spot to all guests and tourists in the city.

Within the grounds, guests are spoiled for choice for food and drink spots, to watch the races in style. From their executive boxes, to the onsite ‘Paddock Club’ and luxury 1539 space, racegoers and corporate guests alike can experience the race days with a little more exclusivity. 

As Chester Racecourse continues to uphold it’s legacy as one of the oldest and most vibrant racecourses in the world, the unique ‘Chester Cup’ celebrates 200 years of racing this year. Since 1824, this now, most popular race, is as deep and competitive as ever, and sees many owners, trainers and racegoers, to all come together and celebrate this magnificent milestone.

With the summer race season already begun, kicking off with the incredible Boodles May Festival, Chester Racecourse has a multitude of race days to excite and entrance racegoers and city tourists alike. With ‘The Chester Cup’ being the highlight of the year and one of the major races of the British Racing calendar, there is a lot more to choose from within the 5 month span. Ladies Day at Chester, forms a prominent hold over the fashion district. Where this year, the fabulous Ella Henderson will be performing all of her hits for this exciting day! To stand-out, is to win, as the arrival of Chester’s most glamorous ladies sets the standard for racing attire and a show-stopping display of the very latest and greatest fashion, bringing the fierce competition from the track to the stands, for all to battle it out to be crowned as ‘Best Dressed’. 

Still to look forward to this season, Ibiza Classic Symphony & Craig Charles will be bringing the summer party to the racecourse on the 12th & 13th of July.
