Metro Mayor Buoyant Over City Region Future

The Liverpool City Region metro mayor Steve Rotheram gave a barnstorming performance at the Downtown in Business Breakfast Forum at INNSiDE Hotel earlier this week.

In conversation with DIB Group chairman and chief executive Frank McKenna at INNSiDE by Melia Hotel, the metro mayor reflected on a successful delegation to MIPIM, the renewed interest in Liverpool from international investors, additional government monies for the Combined Authority, the Free Port, and the City Regions outstanding opportunity in the areas of science, technology, health, and innovation through the work taking place at Daresbury in Halton, and the Knowledge Quarter, Liverpool.

In the 60-minute discussion, Steve also looked ahead to a series of major events that will be held in Liverpool and the wider region in the coming months – the Grand National, the Open Golf Championship, and, of course, the Eurovision Song Contest.

The event was sponsored by the City of Liverpool College and the Liverpool BID Company.
