The head of Marketing Liverpool, Chris Brown, the Managing Director of Marketing Manchester, Sheona Southern, and the Chief Executive of Marketing Lancashire, Rachel McQueen joined forces on Tuesday 18th April 2023 to address a DIB audience on the challeneges and future plans for North West visitor economy.

The event, sponsored by The Open, was held at INNSiDE by Meliá, Liverpool City Centre and focused on the visitor economy for the North West and how the region is able to collaborate to enhance the current offer.

The DIB audience heard about the fantastic opportunities that are available across the region, the tourism tax (recently introduced by Manchester), the food and drink offer available in the region and of course what Eurovision 2023 can bring to the North West economy as a whole.

Downtown Sales Director, David Matthews commented; “I would like to thank Sheona, Rachel and Chris, for taking the time to speak to the DIB audience today, it was fantastic to hear the plans all the North West region has for the future, but also to hear what the business community can help to enhance the offer.

A massive thank you to our sponsors The Open, who will be bringing thousands of visitors to the region in the next few months, and to INNSiDE by Meliá for hosting us.”

Malmaison Deansgate

Each room talks to the exterior of the building design, complimenting the harsh, brutalist designs of the exterior with bold patterns, powerful colours, strong materiality, and striking artwork.
