City chief executive outlines plans to DIB members

The chief executive of Liverpool City Council, Andrew Lewis, addressed an exclusive Downtown in Business breakfast forum hosted at the Malmaison Hotel, and sponsored by Morgan Sindall, earlier this week.

In conversation with DIB Group Chair and chief executive Frank McKenna, Mr Lewis covered a range of topics, including Liverpool’s huge opportunities around science, Innovation, and tech, unsticking stalled development sites, devolution, and inward investment.

Despite the challenges he inherited when he took up his role just six-months ago, Andrew was both optimistic and ambitious for the future.

“Internationally our brand is strong. We have a number of compelling investment propositions, and we are beginning to sort out the internal difficulties that the council faced. The new executive team and myself are keen to work in partnership and engage with the private sector, and we want to be seen as an enabling authority that delivers.”
