On Wednesday, June 5th, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill in Birmingham will play host to a meeting of industry leaders who will gather to form connections, and discuss the significant influence of sport on society and the economy.
We are delighted to be welcoming former Everton footballer, and Mental Health Ambassador for Causeway, Trevor Steven as our guest speaker. Steven boasts a storied career as a professional footballer, having achieved acclaim with Everton and Marseille, along with earning 36 international caps for England. Post-retirement, he has transitioned seamlessly into the media landscape, serving as a pundit for RTÉ Sport in Ireland and establishing his consultancy firm, Trevor Steven Consultancy.
Leveraging his rich experience and connections in the world of sports, Steven will offer insights into the future of sports and sporting projects within the region. Additionally, he will share his experiences as a Mental Health Ambassador for Causeway Technologies. Since 2020, Steven has passionately championed mental health initiatives on behalf of the company, fostering partnerships to combat mental health crises within the construction industry. He will shed light on their collaborative efforts with Everton in the Community to address mental health challenges within the construction industry.
We will also be hearing from Brett Tonkyn from The Open Golf as well as Isaak D’Amico from Aston Villa Football Club, who will also be adding their experiences and insights from successful careers in the world of sport.
Sponsored by Downtown partners DB3 and Causeway, ‘The Social and Economic Impact of Sport’ aims to gather sporting and business personalities from the Birmingham City Region and beyond under one roof and provide a unique platform for discussion.
The evening’s conversation will cover various pivotal themes, including the legacy of the Commonwealth Games, plans for regenerating the Birmingham City FC Stadium, Aston Villa’s recent resurgence, and the positive social impact of sports on industry and the community.
We are delighted to be able to provide this opportunity for our members to engage in compelling discussions and forge meaningful connections. The event is a must-attend for individuals invested in Birmingham’s sporting and sports tourism sector, as well as professionals in the construction and sporting industries.
