Downtown in Business were delighted to host another event in our Leader’s Lunch series on Tuesday 23rd September 2025 at the Maldron Hotel in Liverpool.

Downtown in Business were delighted to host another event in our Leader’s Lunch series on Tuesday 23rd September 2025 at the Maldron Hotel in Liverpool.

We were joined by Nick Small, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Growth and Economy, and Cllr Paulette Lappin, Deputy Cabinet Member for Regeneration & Skills at Sefton Council.

Over lunch we explored key topics around economic growth, regeneration, and skills development across the Liverpool City Region. Conversations focused on future-facing initiatives — including the ambitious New Mersey Power Town — which sparked insightful discussion and generated fresh ideas for collaboration across public, private and third sectors.

It was also excellent to hear from Stephen Cowperthwaite (Avison Young UK), who provided an update on the Bootle Strand development, giving attendees a clear view of progress and opportunity in the area.

We’re grateful to our event sponsor, Warwick North West, for their support in making the session possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation — your input is what makes these sessions so valuable.
