On Tuesday 14th July 2026Downtown in Business launched its new Mersey Power Towns series at St Helens Town Hall, bringing together business leaders, public sector representatives and stakeholders for a panel discussion exploring the regeneration and growth of St Helens.
Chaired by Martin Liptrot, the discussion focused on the investment opportunities, development projects and partnerships helping to shape the borough’s future, while examining the important role St Helens plays in driving economic growth across the Liverpool City Region.
The panel featured Sean Traynor from St Helens Council, Andrew Devaney from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Jo Henney from Nugent, who shared their insights on regeneration, investment, inclusive growth and the importance of collaboration between the public, private and voluntary sectors.
As the first event in the Mersey Power Towns series, the discussion highlighted Downtown in Business’ commitment to showcasing the towns that are playing a vital role in the future prosperity of the Liverpool City Region.
