Downtown in Business today celebrates the sixth anniversary of its launch in Birmingham.

On the 24th September 2015, Downtown in Business launched its Birmingham office at an exclusive party at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Birmingham.

Commenting on the sixth anniversary of Downtown Birmingham, CEO Frank McKenna said; “I am delighted that DIB has been in Birmingham for six years now. It is fantastic that the Birmingham business community has embraced us from the beginning and we are delighted that we are able to play a part in helping the business community in Birmingham connect and grow.

“We actually launched the DIB brand on the same day that John Lewis officially opened. If you had told me then that we would survive in the city for longer than that fantastic retail outfit, I’d have laughed at you.

“As with all businesses, we have been helped and supported by some great people during our time here. Key decision-makers have been open to working with us, in particular Deborah Cadman, Andy Street, and Neil Rami.

“In the early days, Stacey Barnfield and Jas Sansi were an enormous help. In more recent times we have enjoyed the support of Kevin Johnson, Paul Cadman, Ed James, and Kim Leary. We were also fortunate to recruit good people to help establish Downtown in Birmingham. Matt Barnsley and Abby Goldie contributed hugely and helped us integrate effectively into the vibrant Brum business scene.

“KJ Clarke is now working hard to continue our growth here, and of course the most important people both during the past six-years and in the future are our members.

“A huge thank you to them all, past and present, who have been involved with DIB. Without you embracing DIB we would not be able to still be here doing what we do. We look forward to working with you all over the next six years and beyond.”
