Downtown in Business will host an exclusive Lunch event on Tuesday 3rd September, with the aim of exploring the future of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter. This unique Roundtable lunch event will feature a keynote address from Professor Tim Jones, Vice-Chancellor at The University of Liverpool and Colin Sinclair, CEO of Liverpool Knowledge Quarter.

This event will offer a unique opportunity to delve into the innovative spirit of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter.

Spanning over 50% of Liverpool’s city centre, the Knowledge Quarter Liverpool is a thriving hub of collaboration and creativity. Home to influential players in science, health, technology, education, music, and the creative performing arts, the Knowledge Quarter drives innovation and fosters inclusive growth in the region.

As an alumnus of the University of Liverpool, Professor Tim Jones is deeply connected to the Liverpool City Region and has a unique
perspective on its academic and innovation landscape. His close work with Liverpool Knowledge Quarter over the years makes him particularly well-suited to lead the discussion on the future of this ambitious initiative.

At the event, Tim will explore the innovative spirit driving the Knowledge Quarter and share insights into what the future may hold for this dynamic area of research and development.

Colin is the CEO of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool).

A marketeer Colin was CEO of Manchester’s investment and development agency (MIDAS) and, before taking up his role in KQ Liverpool.

In 2018, Colin took up the dual role of CEO of Sciontec Developments Limited, KQ Liverpool’s spin out Development Company that was created to bring new investment to the City Regions science and tech assets, whilst creating a world-leading innovation ecosystem to help commercialise research and grow innovation-led companies. Sciontec owns the successful Liverpool Science Park and is developing HEMISPHERE, Liverpool’s first operational net zero carbon building.

This exclusive event welcomes academics, industry leaders, scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders invested in the future of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter. By bringing together diverse perspectives, the event aims to spark collaboration and innovation within the Liverpool City Region.
