Bowker Motor Group Announces New Partnership with Chery Automobile

The new Chery showroom will be located in the former BMW Motorrad dealership on the docks in Preston.

Bowker Motor Group has signed an agreement to represent Chery Automobile in Preston, expanding its brand portfolio in the UK market.

The new Chery showroom will be located in the former BMW Motorrad dealership on the docks in Preston.

Founded in 1997, Chery has sold over 17 million vehicles in more than 100 countries and has been China’s leading passenger car exporter for 22 consecutive years. The brand recently launched in the UK with its Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 models, available in both petrol and hybrid variants. Further new model launches are planned for late 2025 and into 2026.

Paul Bowker, Chief Executive of Bowker Motor Group, said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Chery. They’re bringing something fresh to the UK car market, and we’re excited to be part of that journey. We think our customers will be impressed with what the brand has to offer.

“It’s an exciting time for the business. We’re growing our brand portfolio with manufacturers who share our long-term vision, and that opens up fresh opportunities for both our customers and our team.”

The partnership with Chery supports Bowker’s strategy of working exclusively with established and forward-looking manufacturers. The Directors said the addition of Chery would complement the Group’s existing brand line-up and enhance its offering to customers in Lancashire.

Farrell Hsu, Country Director for Chery UK said: “To have such an experienced and respected family-owned group join our dealership network is another step forward for the expansion of our brand in the UK, and we’re excited about what we can achieve together. There’s real momentum building, and we can’t wait to introduce our vehicles to Lancashire motorists.”

Bowker Motor Group has confirmed that further details, including recruitment plans, will be shared in the coming months.
