Zoe’s Pace Baby Hospice in Liverpool has launched an urgent £3.5 million appeal to raise the capital to secure a future in Liverpool for its children and their families by funding a new home for itshospice.
In 2025, as our hospice lease comes to an end, an exciting opportunity to begin a fresh journey within a new specialist home that brings peace of mind to our families begins.
Our hospice in Liverpool has been there for our children and their families on the same site for the last 28 years, but we now urgently need to find a new, long-term home for our vital, specialist services. It’s our aspiration to raise enough capital to ensure that our new hospice can facilitate our current services, providing the home away from home environment that our babies and families deserve; To do this, we need to raise and additional £3.5 million.
In addition to our central hospice space, we are extremely proud to provide:
- Soft play
- Outdoor spaces
- Snowdrop (Bereavement) Suite
- Sensory room
- Family residential facilities
- Family day facilities
- Accessible bathroom
- Bedrooms
Families are understandably cautious about trusting anyone to look after their child, especially with their complex care needs; so, it is critically important that our Hospice environment is of an incredibly high standard, fit for purpose, and has the flexibility for growth and development in the future.
Whilst our priority is to raise enough funds to provide a hospice that is able to offer to our babies and their families the service that they are used to, it would be incredible to extend our fundraising efforts further if we can, to enable us to enhance the building and our offering to our children and their families in the future.
Why is Zoe’s Place so special?
Zoe’s Place was chosen since Zoe is the Greek word meaning ‘Gift of Life’.
Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice Liverpool provides much needed respite, palliative, and end of life care to babies and children aged 0-5 years old with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. The care we provide encompasses the whole family, and our aim is to contribute positively to a full and positive life. We work to ensure that very unwell children can enjoy the best possible quality of life, supporting their families along the way.
We support children throughout Liverpool, the Wirral, Chester and St Helens, and it’s our vision and aim to be there for many more who need us within the Northwest of England, and to ensure that every baby and young child that needs us has access to specialist short break support, palliative and end of life care. It’s together with collaborative organisations like yours that we will be able to promote our services and offering to more people within the Northwest.
Our aim is to ensure that every baby and young child that needs us has access to specialist short break support, palliative and end of life care. The care we provide wraps around the whole family, including parents, grandparents, and siblings. Families can access a range of support services, including specialist holistic therapies and counselling. We help families to create communities by hosting Sibling Days and Stay & Play sessions that gives families the chance to interact and form meaningful connections. We also offer bereavement services, including bespoke suites that can facilitate the resting of a child after they have passed whilst allowing families to stay nearby, and bereavement services to help families cope with the loss of a child.
Why we urgently need your support.
Zoe’s Place in Liverpool has been able to provide specialist care and support to local children and their families for the past 28 years because of the generous support, loyalty and commitment of local people. We couldn’t continue to provide the service that we do for those who need us without the support and generosity from tens of thousands of people who have contributed their time, donated or fundraised to support us.
We cannot begin to imagine raising £3.5 million to secure our future in Liverpool without the same support.
Our appeal to raise £3.5 million for our new hospice will rely upon the support of incredible individuals, companies and organisations from across the Northwest of England. Every £10 donated will become an important and valuable leap towards securing our future and the future of specialist care and support to children and families who really need us.
