Downtown in Business will host a series of events with senior decision-makers from across the Liverpool City Region in the Autumn, as well as hosting a number of fringe events with government Ministers at the Labour Party conference, which takes place in the city in September.
DIB will also be holding a half-day conference focussing on placemaking, in association with the Liverpool BID company, at the Hilton Hotel, on Thursday 5th September, and its first Liverpool Parliamentary Reception at Westminster on Wednesday 30th October.
Downtown boss Frank McKenna said:
“This is a really exciting time for the city and the wider region. With a new leadership and executive in place at the Town Hall, the commissioners departing, the re-election of Steve Rotheram as the metro mayor, and now a new Labour government, there is much to look forward to.
“With the new chancellor Rachel Reeves announcing plans to kick start the development and regeneration at Central Docks, Steve meeting with Keir Starmer on Tuesday, and the prime minister acknowledging that he wants to “put rocket boosters under Liverpool”, then we can be hugely optimistic for the future.”
Forthcoming DIB events in Liverpool will feature presentations from city development director, Nuala Gallagher, City CEO Andrew Lewis, metro mayor Steve Rotheram, and council leader Liam Robinson.
There will also be a Mersey Power Towns event with the chair of the Kirkby Towns Board, Max Steinberg, and the CEO of Halton Borough Council, Stephen Young.
