Liverpool based Hospitality operator Sefton Collection has announced the opening of its latest boutique hotel, 19 Duke Street, located in the heart of Liverpool city centre.
The 26-bedroom property occupies the former home of Lock and Key, previously recognised in The Sunday Times “100 Top British Hotels.” Set within a Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse, the hotel combines period character with contemporary comfort following an investment of more than £100,000 to enhance and elevate the building’s original features.
Each room at 19 Duke Street has been upgraded to include Nespresso coffee machines, luxury toiletries and a range of additional enhanced guest amenities. Guests can also enjoy 24-hour reception with concierge services, daily housekeeping, free Wi-Fi and guest room service with further enhancements due to be announced in the coming months.
Midweek introductory opening rates start from £79 per room, positioning the hotel as a high-quality yet accessible offering in one of the city’s most desirable locations. The property sits just 50 metres from the popular Liverpool ONE retail and leisure complex, and within a 10-minute walk of the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, The Beatles Story and the M&S Bank Arena Liverpool.
The opening of 19 Duke Street brings Sefton Collection’s total number of properties in Liverpool to six with a combined total of 292 bedrooms, strengthening its position as the largest privately owned, independent and unbranded hotel collection in the north of England, meaning that each property retains its own unique identity and character whilst benefitting from group level services and support.
The new hotel will create 10 additional local jobs, increasing Sefton Collection’s workforce to 160 employees.
Sefton Collection already operates a number of other properties in Liverpool including Ropewalks Hotel and Sefton Park Hotel, the latter currently undergoing a £250,000 refurbishment scheduled for completion in spring 2026. Beyond hotels, the group also operates popular hospitality and entertainment venues including Masons, Dicey Reilly’s Sports Bar, and the purpose-built event spaces Clubhouse and Baby Clubhouse.
Conor O’Donovan, CEO, Sefton Collection said “19 Duke Street represents an exciting addition to our growing Liverpool portfolio. We are proud to continue investing in the city’s hospitality sector, creating jobs and enhancing historic buildings to deliver high-quality guest experiences in prime city-centre locations.”
