Hanami Blooms at Australasia

Australasia, Manchester’s subterranean Asian fusion restaurant, has launched an amazing set menu and tasting experience in celebration of Hanami - the renowned Cherry Blossom Festival.

The new Hanami sharing menu is inspired by the Japanese tradition of dining beneath the blooming blossom trees with friends and family, with Hanami literally translating to ‘watching blossoms’.

Served in 3 waves, the sharing menu begins with a Sakuru sushi selection, followed by a main course of pan roasted duck breast, sweet potato and confit duck bon bon, mandarin purée, charred chicory and poached szechuan pear served with roast potato scallops and bok choy. A cherry blossom and caramelia chocolate mousse with black cherry follows as dessert to complete the meal.

The menu is available until the 27th May at £55 per person.

To complement the menu, a special 4 cocktail selection has been created in collaboration with drinks specialists The House of Suntory featuring their signature spirits: Roku Gin, Haku Vodka and Toki Whisky.

The Suntory team will also be hosting a unique dining and tasting experience in Australasia on Wednesday 17th May from 7pm. Brand Ambassador Raffaele Di Monaco will take guests on a guided tasting of the house’s spirits before heading into the restaurant to dine under the blossoms and enjoy the Hanami menu, followed by one of the specialty cocktails.

The tasting event and Hanami menu can be booked online via the Australasia website or by calling 0161 831 0288. Follow Australasia on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
