Gillian Keegan MP has been confirmed as the latest keynote speaker at the Downtown in Business ‘Change Makers Live 2023’ national conference, which takes place at the award-winning Spine Building in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter on Thursday 2nd March.
Gillian was named as the Secretary of State for Education in October. Having started her own career as an apprentice, she has been a long-time advocate of education reform to help to fill the long-term challenges of skills gaps in the labour market. She served as the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Apprenticeships and Skills in Boris Johnsons’ government.
Among other conference speakers are the shadow health minister Wes Streeting MP, Lord Andrew Adonis, the Director of Strategy for Bruntwood Jessica Bowles and the chief executive of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool Colin Sinclair.
The DIB Group chair and chief executive Frank McKenna said:
“We are delighted that the minister has agreed to join what is an already impressive line up of speakers. The event will generate ideas, discussion, and debate about how we can grow the economy in the future, how we deal with the new challenges of the 21st Century, and take advantage of new technologies, health and scientific advancement. I am sure it will prove to be a stimulating day, and we look forward to welcoming delegates from across the country to Liverpool.”
Conference sponsors are Be.EV, Halton Borough Council, the Liverpool BID Company, the Northwest Business Leadership Team, and Knowledge Quarter Liverpool.
