The 19th annual COLBA gala awards dinner, recognised as the city’s most prestigious gathering of Liverpool’s leading movers & shakers in business, will be headline sponsored this year by Liverpool John Lennon Airport and premier airline Lufthansa.

The nominees for the 2023 Downtown in Business City of Liverpool Business Awards, which take place at the spectacular Sefton Park Palm House on the evening of Thursday 6th July, will be announced at noon today (Friday 17th February 2023).

The 19th annual COLBA gala awards dinner, recognised as the city’s most prestigious gathering of Liverpool’s leading movers & shakers in business, will be headline sponsored this year by Liverpool John Lennon Airport and premier airline Lufthansa.

Airport CEO John Irving said: “We are delighted to support what is always a fabulous Liverpool occasion. DIB has been an enthusiastic and consistent supporter of the airport for many years – and we value the business community and network that Downtown represents across the city. We wish all those who have been nominated for awards this year the very best of luck, and we are looking forward to a great evening.”

DIB Group chairman and chief executive Frank McKenna commented:

“As always, we have had a huge amount of interest for the COLBAs. It is always a special evening – and the nominees list this year really is ‘A’ list and worthy of any premier business awards dinner.

“I am grateful to John Lennon Airport and Lufthansa for headline sponsoring the event. The aviation industry was one of the biggest victims of the pandemic. But John Lennon Airport has bounced back brilliantly – not least because of the deal it has won with one of the biggest airlines in Europe, Lufthansa. JLA is an absolute credit to Liverpool, and I am delighted that they have agreed to get behind COLBA 2023.”

Look out for the nominees announcement at NOON today!
