After the phenomenal success of last year’s event, DIB is delighted to announce that we will be hosting our second annual Change Makers Live Conference in April.
On Thursday 18th April 2024, a spectacular and eclectic line-up of innovators, policy makers, and influencers from various industry’s will be gathering for a true Avengers style assemble at the stunning Spine Building in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter.
We’re pleased to be partnering with BDP Design, Bruntwood SciTech, Catapult, the House of Wisdom Group, the Knowledge Quarter, and the Liverpool BID Company to host this exciting conference.
So… what is Change Makers Live?
Well, imagine if Carlsberg did conferences…. There’ll be food, drink, plenty of crack and a healthy dose of game changing keynote talks and networking thrown in!
Change Makers Live is a national Business & Innovation conference designed with the aim of exploring innovative solutions to the challenges facing the UK and global economy in the twenty-first century.
We’ve invited some of the county’s Leading entrepreneurs, academics, thinkers, and politicians to join us to discuss the key issues that are affecting businesses across sectors, not just in the UK, but around the world and start to offer innovative solutions to address these difficulties.
Our inaugural Change Makers Live conference in 2023 featured contributions from a star studded selection of decision-makers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, including the shadow health minister Wes Streeting MP, the Chief Executive of Halton Borough council Stephen Young, Biograd boss Dr Natalie Kenny, Director of Strategy for Bruntwood Jessica Bowles and many more.
Issues and topics discussed included the, Economy & the cost-of-living crisis, Technology, Health, Energy, Climate, net zero & the environment, Infrastructure and Public services.
This year’s event promises to be even bigger and even better! Our experts will be tackling key topics across multiple industries, including the space industry, the future of learning, business growth, community engagement, arts, sport, and culture, and social value place making.
Confirmed to be speaking at the event are the chief executive of Co-operatives UK Rose Marley, former adviser to Paddy Ashdown and Bob Geldof and freelance journalist and political commentator Jo Phillips, the Managing Director of Capital & Centric, ‘disruptor developer’ Tim Heatley and Silvana Cory-Wright, founder of the Social Impact Lab an organisation which aims to give a voice to and recognise shop floor employees who are at the of the communities they serve. Many more fantastic speakers are set to be announced over the coming weeks.
Throughout the day there’ll be a series of Keynote speaker ‘Ted talk’ style presentations where our experts will be taking the floor to share their thoughts and unique perspectives and experiences on everything from innovation and tech, to science, health, and entrepreneurialism.
But it’s not all talk and no trousers, last years event saw some amazing insights from our members and many of our members form valuable and long lasting connections. We want this years event to be as interactive and productive as possible and we encourage comment and participation from all attendees.
