Knowledge Quarter Liverpool has pledged its support for Liverpool’s bid for the title of European Capital of Innovation in 2028, after narrowly missing out this year.

The competition invites pupils to create original artwork that explores a range of concepts from the world of health and life sciences innovation.

The organisation was founded in October 2016 with the aim of harnessing the power of Liverpool’s knowledge economy with the strength of the city’s innovation facilities and in doing so create a world-class destination for science, education, technology and culture.

Building on the success of this year’s LCR In a Day campaign, which raised nearly £17,000 to support local young people and children, Knowledge Quarter Liverpool will undertake a new charity challenge in 2026.
