Thursday June 13th was a very special day for Downtown as we celebrated our 21st anniversary!
What better way to mark over two decades in business than with a day out at the Qube Liverpool International Tennis Tournament, sponsoring ‘Downtown Day’!
It was great to celebrate our special day by going back to where it all started and joining forces once again with Anders Borg and the team at Northern vision who have been with us from the very beginning. To old friends!
But from there the party was far from over, with a coach arriving to pick up the Downtown team and friends to take us on to DIB’s 21st-anniversary party!
The glamorous INNSiDE by Meliá Hotel, played host to an unforgettable celebration as Downtown In Business hosted its official 21st Birthday Bash in its chic Gino D’Acampo 360 Sky Bar, which served as the perfect backdrop for this momentous occasion.
As guests arrived, to stunning views of Liverpool’s skyline, the 360 Sky Bar provided a perfect backdrop for those all important selfies and group photos, capturing the joyous moments of the evening and setting the tone for an evening filled with nostalgia, celebration, and cheer for the future. The atmosphere was electric, with a mix of long-standing members and new faces mingling and sharing stories of DIB’s remarkable journey since its inception in 2003.
The party kicked off at 6pm with an impressive spread of food and drinks with gourmet canapes and complimentary prosecco as well as a well-stocked bar! The culinary offerings went down a storm with guests!
Midway through the evening, DIB’s CEO Frank McKenna took the stage for a heartfelt speech. Reflecting on the organisation’s humble beginnings, he shared anecdotes and milestones from the past 21 years. He also took the opportunity to share some heartfelt thanks to the members, partners, and friends past and present who have been instrumental in DIB’s success, many of whom were in attendance. The speech was a poignant reminder of DIB’s evolution and its unwavering commitment to fostering a supportive and dynamic business community.
True to DIB’s ethos, the event was not just about celebration but also about connection. The anniversary party provided an excellent platform for some (light!) networking, with leading entrepreneurs, business thinkers, and innovators from across DIB’s extensive network in attendance. Conversations flowed easily at the bar! Ideas were exchanged, and new partnerships were formed!
A live DJ kept the energy high later in the evening, playing a mix of hits that had everyone on their feet! The dance floor was a lively scene, with guests letting loose and dancing the night away!
As the night drew to a close, there was a definite sense of excitement for the future. The event not only celebrated DIB past achievements but also looked forward to many more action-packed years ahead. Our work is never done and DIB’s commitment to supporting businesses and fostering a vibrant community remains as strong as ever.
