The Liverpool ECHO is officially joining a city-wide campaign to try and save Zoe’s Place baby hospice in Liverpool from being closed. They have 30 days to raise £5 million. It is a huge ask but, if any city can do it, it is this one.
The hugely loved centre in Yew Tree Lane, West Derby, provides respite, palliative and end-of-life care for babies and children up to the age of five. It has supported countless local families in their most difficult moments. Devastated staff and families of children being cared for at Zoe’s Place were told on Monday that the centre would close before the end of the year and that staff would lose their jobs in 30 days.
Since the news broke, people from across Liverpool and beyond have been pulling out all the stops to try and raise the money that Zoe’s Place needs to remain in the city. There have already been comedy gigs organised, sponsored events held and hundreds of thousands of pounds donated this week alone. Famous faces from across the city have pledged their support, from Robbie Fowler to Paddy Pimblett and Jamie Webster.
Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice is fundraising to secure a new home for their hospice in Liverpool. This may include buying, building, renovating and/or equipping a suitable building from which to deliver their services, in the future.
Therefore, they are asking for anyone to contribute and to share the link below, helping to raise some funds for a new home for Zoe’s Place:
