DJH, a private equity-backed accountancy and professional services group with a team of nearly 750 multidisciplinary professionals, has further expanded its North West presence by acquiring Haines Watts offices in Chester, Liverpool, and Wirral.
As a result of this acquisition, the group’s turnover will increase to £61.5 million, with revenues in the North West alone now surpassing £24 million. These newly acquired locations will immediately operate under the DJH name, strengthening and complementing its existing operations in Altrincham, Bury, Chester, Manchester, and Nantwich.
The acquisition enhances DJH’s regional service offering, now enabling clients across Merseyside and Cheshire to access a more comprehensive range of in-house services including estate planning, capital allowances, R&D tax credits, corporate finance, commercial funding solutions, HR consultancy, IT and technology support.
Leadership in these offices will remain consistent: Mike Forshaw and Tim Cherry will continue to lead the Liverpool team; Stuart Penny and Vikki Wynne will oversee Wirral; and Steve Greensill will stay in charge of the Chester office, joined by newly promoted Joe Walters.
Scott Heath, DJH’s Chief Executive, commented that the acquisition aligns with the firm’s strategy of growing in key regional markets through partnerships with high-quality, client-centred practices. He added that the local market knowledge and client relationships of these teams fit perfectly with DJH’s existing North West operations, which is a region thriving with inward investment, regeneration projects, and fast-growing companies that demand tailored advisory support.
Backed by private equity firm Tenzing, this acquisition marks DJH’s 16th in the past four years. The firm now ranks among the UK’s top 30 accountancy and professional services groups, with 16 offices across the UK and Ireland and a workforce of approximately 750.
