Downtown in Business was delighted to host a special farewell dinner on Tuesday 11th November 2025 celebrating the outstanding career of Steve Broomhead at the beautiful Hope Street Hotel in Liverpool.
Steve has recently retired following decades of dedicated public service, during which he has made an extraordinary contribution to the North West. From his time as Chief Executive of Warrington Borough Council to his leadership of the North West Development Agency (NWDA), Steve has been instrumental in shaping the region’s growth, regeneration, and economic success.
The evening brought together business leaders from across the DIB network to honour Steve’s achievements and reflect on his impact. Guests shared memories of the many transformational projects he led — particularly in Liverpool during his time with the NWDA — and enjoyed plenty of laughter recounting stories from his impressive career.
Steve has been a great friend and supporter of Downtown in Business throughout our 22-year history. His insight, leadership, and enthusiasm have played a key role in helping us build strong relationships across the business community.
We wish Steve all the very best in his retirement and look forward to continuing to work with him on new projects and events in the months ahead.
