On Wednesday 4th February 2026 Downtown in Business hosted a Drink Tank event at The Clubhouse, welcoming Cllr Carl Cashman in partnership with Bright Blue. The event brought together business leaders and stakeholders for an evening of discussion and debate.
Cllr Cashman represents Church Ward on Liverpool City Council and serves as Leader of the Liberal Democrats in Liverpool, as well as Leader of the Opposition on the council.
During the event, Cllr Cashman delivered a talk titled “Scouse Momentum: Building a Liverpool that Leads”. He addressed a range of challenges currently facing the city, including transport connectivity, housing supply, and the future of the hospitality sector. He also outlined the importance of adopting a “Liverpool first” approach to support sustainable growth and ensure the city realises its full potential.
The discussion prompted a wide-ranging exchange of views among attendees, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between political leaders, businesses, and civic organisations in shaping Liverpool’s future.
