Growth Company boss outlines exciting West Midlands opportunities

Reflecting on the city regions recent delegation to property festival MIPIM, Neil outlined the range of opportunities that were now in the pipeline for Birmingham and the wider region, but also spelt out successes that have already been secured.

The HS2 project is in place. A successful Commonwealth Games has been delivered. And the region has just been awarded additional powers and resources as part of the government’s commitment to deeper devolution.

Against this backdrop, the chief executive of the West Midlands Growth Company Neil Rami was, understandably, able to contribute a hugely positive presentation to the Downtown in Business ‘Leaders Lunch’ at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham on Thursday 30th March 2023.

Reflecting on the city regions recent delegation to property festival MIPIM, Neil outlined the range of opportunities that were now in the pipeline for Birmingham and the wider region, but also spelt out successes that have already been secured – among them record investment from India, a significant slug of cash from government for its housebuilding programme, and a much-enhanced international reputation on the back of the Commonwealth Games.

Rob Valentine of Bruntwood, Arcadis Director Simon Marks, and Maggie Grogan from Mews Developments were among the DIB members who backed the Growth Company boss’ optimistic view of the future for the West Midlands.
