The Director for the government’s Levelling-Up department, Tim Newns, was the special guest at the Downtown in Business Leaders Lunch in Manchester.

The Director for the government’s Levelling-Up department, Tim Newns, was the special guest at the Downtown in Business Leaders Lunch in Manchester earlier this week, hosted at the outstanding new restaurant WOOD.

Tim, who was previously the chief executive of the city’s inward investment agency MIDAS, explained the role he plays in promoting regional investment opportunities in Whitehall and beyond, and sketched out the governments levelling up ambitions.

The event, sponsored by Mansell Building Solutions, who won the Employer of the Year award at the City of Manchester Business Awards last month.

Leading electrical retailer AO chooses Bruntwood SciTech’s innovation hub 111 Piccadilly for city centre creative hub

Bruntwood SciTech is announcing that the UK’s leading electrical retailer, AO, has chosen 111 Piccadilly for its new Manchester city centre creative hub.

The firm will take the entire 15th floor, providing a fully fitted and furnished workspace for its creative department, comprising animators, production staff and graphic designers. By relocating to 111 Piccadilly, AO will gain direct collaboration and networking opportunities with other like-minded tech businesses already based at the building, including the likes of national EV charging network Be.EV and payment solutions software provider, Total Processing.
