Porsche Centre Preston on Watery Lane in Preston has marked its first birthday with a socially-distanced celebration.

The celebration follows the centre recently re-opening after lockdown.

In the last 12 months, more than 10,000 people have visited the new 43,000 square feet retail centre.

A year ago, Porsche Cars GB managing director Marcus Eckermann joined over 500 guests to celebrate the official opening of the new Porsche Centre.

In July last year, local businesses partnered with Porsche Preston for an event celebrating over thirty years Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur More than 100 guests attended along with Liverpool-based tailors Signature Bespoke, Cumbria-based Bike Treks and Watches of Switzerland.

In August, there was a mayoral send-off from the centre for more than 50 Porsche drivers taking part in The Red Rose Run; a Lancashire drive out for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Tom Fox, Porsche Centre Preston centre principal, said:  “As the centre took shape, we knew we were building a space that offered more than a world-leading retail experience. Our first year has proved we were right. We have welcomed groups from across the county to enjoy events with us. Other organisations have enjoyed the corporate boardroom facilities for meetings.

“The building has a prominent gateway location and is now one of the most recognisable in Preston. It’s wonderful that we have been able to offer so many partners access to the facilities in this amazing space.”

Porsche Centre Preston also supported local events. In January, Porsche Centre Preston provided cars for the 17-night Northcote Obsession event. Rick Stein, Ken Hom and James Martin were amongst the chefs showcasing their culinary skills at the international gourmet festival. In February Porsche Centre Preston sponsored the 2020 Preston Sports Awards.

Paul Bowker, Bowker Motor Group chief executive, added: “As a Lancashire family business we always focus on our role in the community. I’m really pleased we’ve been able to support some great events this year. And we’ve enjoyed welcoming a wide variety of organisations to enjoy the centre.”

The Porsche Centre Preston opening last year was the best-attended launch in Bowker Motor Group history. The centre serves customers in the North West. The opening demonstrated a major investment in the Porsche business and the local region.
