Stamp duty ‘cut will help confidence’

Linda Kirk, director of conveyancing at Adkirk Law has responded to stamp duty holiday.

Speaking of the stamp duty holiday, Linda Kirk, director of conveyancing at Adkirk Law, said: “The stamp duty support will help sustain confidence once the current pipeline of deals are completed, many of them started pre-lockdown.

“We are seeing the odd 90 per cent loan to value lending, and coupled with this cut in stamp duty, we see the market continuing to grow now and for the medium to longer term at all levels.

“We are seeing a lot of activity in the new build sector and this will also be helped by these measures. However, we need to make sure everyone is on board with this including the lenders to ensure the current upward trend continues.”
