Red Rose Awards chooses Community Foundation as charity partner

The organisers of the Red Rose Awards have selected the Community Foundation for Lancashire as its charity partner throughout the 2021 programme.

The organisers of the Red Rose Awards have selected the Community Foundation for Lancashire as its charity partner throughout the 2021 programme.

The two have worked together on a number of projects over a number of years, and the foundation has been a keen supporter of previous Red Rose Awards ceremonies.

Community Foundation for Lancashire helps orchestrate charitable giving in the county and has helped distribute more than £13m to charities and community projects since its launch. It has been a leading figure in the county’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic and, in previous years, helped businesses and communities affected by major storms and floods.

Now as the charity partner, the organisation will be given a platform to showcase the great work it has been undertaking throughout the county since 2007, as well as introducing its newly-launched Red Rose Responding Fund.

Stephen Bolton, director of Lancashire Business View which hosts the awards, said: “We are proud to have the Community Foundation as the charity partner of the awards. We have worked closely with them throughout the years and are familiar with the excellent work that they do.

“One of the great things about this organisation is that they support a wide range of projects, so any money raised on the night and through our on-going relationship will have a significant impact on the greatest number of Lancashire people.”

Karen Morris from The Community Foundation for Lancashire said  “We are delighted to be working with Lancashire Business View as their charity partner for the Red Rose Awards 2021.

“The Community Foundation, through our ‘Lancashire Red Rose Responding Fund’, is supporting vulnerable people across Lancashire. We are here to respond to our community’s needs, and what has been specifically identified is  help and support for people with their mental health and wellbeing.

“We are looking to work with or support anybody who wants to get involved, particularly Lancashire businesses, with this focus over the next few weeks and months. We look forward to being involved with another great Red Rose Awards.

This year’s Red Rose Awards will take place on June 24 and features new branding, new awards categories and new trophies.

The new categories include the Go Green Award, Made in Lancashire Award and Scale-up Award, as well as specific categories for professional services, marketing agencies and those working within the built environment sector. A special Covid Hero award will also be granted out to one exceptional company that has stood out above the many organisations which have played vital roles in helping the country through the pandemic.
