THE CITY OF LIVERPOOL COLLEGES LAUNCHES DIGITAL ACADEMY TO BRIDGE SKILLS GAP

The City of Liverpool College has launched its Digital Academy, an arm of the College specialising in digital courses, in response to the demand for skills in the sector. Based in the thriving Knowledge Quarter, the Digital Academy provides industry-led courses, designed in collaboration with employers, to provide budding digital experts with real world experience, helping them to excel in their careers.

The Digital Academy is differentiated from other College departments by its bold and striking branding, giving it an exciting identity that reflects the expertise and state of the art facilities that exist across its wide digital offer, including an on-site motion capture suite and the latest specialist technology, designed in partnership with industry experts after a £2.5m investment.

From coding and website development to games design, software development to digital marketing, the College’s Digital Academy has courses for anyone who is passionate about a career in the sector, offering various pathways based on subject areas.

Steph Doyle, Head of the Digital Academy, said:

“As our world becomes increasingly digitally-focused, digital skills are in demand more than ever, with employers consistently looking to improve their workforce’s knowledge. This means that careers in digital are sustainable and those who study digital-based courses will have fantastic opportunities to develop, with the average salary for a tech-based job in Liverpool at £45,000.

“Giving our students real-world experience and ensuring they can hit the ground running in their chosen career is our top priority. That’s why all of our courses are designed in collaboration with our industry partners and many of our students have the opportunity to work with employers during their studies on real briefs, providing them with invaluable experiences and giving them the skills that employers are looking for.

“The digital industry is incredibly diverse and there are so many ways for people to be part of it. Whether you’re a complete beginner, want to brush up on your skills or completely change your career, we have courses to suit anyone who is passionate about the digital world.”
