The partnership will see the two organisations working together over the coming months on a number of projects to support Acorns and the charity’s work providing specialist palliative care to life limited children across the region.
Acorns, which has benefitted from over £30,000 in donations from Birmingham Tech over the past two years, has also been named official charity partner of this October’s Birmingham Tech Week 2023, the UK’s largest regional technology festival.

Acorns provides care and support from three hospices based in Birmingham, Walsall and Worcester and in family homes. It costs the charity around £10 million every year to continue and it relies on donations for the bulk of that amount.

A not-for-profit community initiative (CIC), Birmingham Tech was established in 2019 to champion the tech sector across the West Midlands. The initiative runs the annual Birmingham Tech Week which attracts 5,000 people every year to its events, seminars and workshops.
Acorns Children’s Hospice has been providing specialist palliative care to life limited children and support for their families for over 30 years. The charity offers a range of services both within the hospice and in family homes and relies on fundraising and the profits from charity shops to continue.
