HybridTec is expanding with new training centres opening across the North West, including Cumbria and Greater Manchester.

The training provider, which in August successfully secured £1m worth of funding in partnership with Back to Work Complete Training from the Department for Education, says the news is part of plans for a nationwide expansion. As leaders in energy training and the green agenda, HybridTec will aim to fill the immediate skills gap in these areas.

The Liverpool-based training provider has also agreed a unique partnership with Cumbria LEP and will provide the first renewable energy skills bootcamp in the region.

HybridTec is also targeting additional areas including Greater London, West Midlands, and North of the Tyne, with the intention to establish a site in these regions by August 2023.

Sophie Gilmore, managing director at HybridTec, said:

“This is an incredibly exciting time for HybridTec as we expand our services across the North West.At HybridTec, it’s our mission to help more businesses across the country achieve their objectives, and this expansion will enable us to do this and deliver our programme efficiently further afield in other regions.

“We will continue to invest and expand across the UK,offering first class training for adults and young people, and creating an exciting place for the next generation of tradespeople to learn, to be inspired, and to upskill.”

Amanda Wharton, skill bootcamp programme manager at Cumbria LEP, said:

“I welcome HybridTec’s engagement which supports Cumbira LEP’s commitment to supporting green careers and jobs that directly contribute to achieving net zero targets.”

Established in 2005, HydridTec delivers accredited, industry-led training in gas, plumbing, electrical and green energy to build a future workforce. As leaders in energy training and the green training agenda, the firm has recently accelerated its expansion plans – addressing the skills gap within today’s tradespeople and preparing a future workforce in line with the Government’s mission of reducing carbon emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050.
