The 21st annual City of Liverpool Business Awards (COLBA) returned to celebrate the very best Liverpool businesses on Thursday 4th July 2024.
This illustrious event attracts guests from a wide range of sectors and industries as well as the best and brightest in business talent, including entrepreneurs, top thinkers and decision makers, and 2024 was no exception.
The City of Liverpool Business Awards, this year sponsored by Muse, was once again held at the magnificent Sefton Park Palm House, with over 200 of the city’s leading business personalities in attendance.
On this historic day, in which the country welcomed in a new government after 14 years of Conservative rule, Downtown in Business recognised the achievements and successes of key organisations in the Liverpool business community.
The awards, hosted by Downtown CEO, Frank McKenna, and Voice of God and Liverpool Radio Personality, Pete Price, acknowledges and celebrates companies and entrepreneurs that have made a successful and significant contribution to economic growth in the city region.
The evening got off to a great start with guests enjoying a fantastic drinks reception courtesy of sponsors Think Wine Group, (who provided the refreshments for the evening), accompanied by some fantastic table decor from the Festive Group.
Frank McKenna kicked off the celebrations with a welcome address in which he reflected on 21 years of the Liverpool Business Awards and championing business excellence in Liverpool and shared his hope for the future ahead of a historic shift in UK politics.
We were then joined by Liam Robinson of Liverpool City Council who took the time to say a few words to attendees ahead of a busy election night and expressed his desire to promote change and continue to support growth in the region reiterating that his door is always open to hear from those businesses in the Liverpool region whom he represents.
After a fabulous three-course meal and a live screening of the exit poll, it was time to celebrate the true champions of the evening as the official awards ceremony got underway!
Among the winners of the evening were, Warwick, Krol Corlett and Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre who won the Business of the Year 2024, Contribution to Liverpool 2024 and Liverpool BID Company Award 2024 respectively.
