UCLan teams up with Microsoft to hold free event

UCLan is exploring how future enhancements in technology enabled learning and teaching can benefit the education sector, by holding a free event in partnership with Microsoft.

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is exploring how future enhancements in technology enabled learning and teaching can benefit the education sector, by holding a free event in partnership with Microsoft.

Digital Transformations at Scale: Maximising the potential of Microsoft Surface and Office 365 will consist of practical seminars and keynote speakers, along with opportunities to understand how the latest technologies can support and embrace digital transformation in education.

UCLan is encouraging educators and IT professionals within the education sector to attend the event, in addition to businesses with relevant interests and connections.

It will take place on April 17 between 9am and 4.30pm at the University’s Harrington Building on the Preston Campus.

James Crooks, Director of Learning and Information Services at UCLan, said: “This is the second year we are hosting an event in partnership with Microsoft, and we’re thrilled to be able to build on the outcomes of last year.

“Microsoft’s technology has had a significant impact on the strategic learning and teaching ambitions of the University, including the roll-out of 2,500 Surface devices across the academic teaching and support community which have generated many benefits for users.

“We look forward to another fantastic day of sharing ideas, experiences and best practice.”

Steve Beswick, Microsoft’s Education Business Development Director for Surface, said: “It is fantastic to be partnering with the University of Central Lancashire for a second year to celebrate and share the success and impact of the digital transformation Surface and Office 365 has delivered. This will be a day to share ideas and partake in sessions from a digitally creative educational organisation.”
