The Sub36 Awards, Lancashire Business View’s celebration of the next generation of employees, entrepreneurs and young businesses, will return for 2019 with an improved package of support for the winners.

In addition to plaudits and a trophy, the winners – announced at the annual prize-giving ceremony at Winter Gardens Blackpool on October 17 – will also receive access to a bespoke mentoring programme provided by Northern Mentoring Programme and a 12-month pass to high level coaching from Sales Geek via their academy.

The Sub36 programme highlights the excellent and inspiring work being undertaken by individuals aged under 36 across the red rose county. It includes print features within Lancashire Business View magazine, regular networking events, and the annual awards celebration.

Ten awards will be handed out on the night across categories such as Apprentice, Customer Champion, Innovator and Leader of the Year. A special eleventh award will be presented by the Lancashire Business View and Sub36 teams.

Anybody interested in competing for an award has until midnight on September 2 to submit a nomination. And if you know of anybody deserving, you can also nominate a colleague, employee or peer.

As the awards ceremony grows from strength to strength, Lancaster’s printing.com has been enrolled as print partner, alongside sponsors and partners including headline sponsor Fat Media, mentoring partner Northern Mentoring Programme, Sales Geek plus Begbies Traynor, Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub, Northcote at the Rovers, Pennine Wealth Solutions, True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners and Winter Gardens Blackpool.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View and founder of Sub36, said: “The annual event is about more than celebrating past successes with fanfare and trophies – although we do this too – but also identifying potential in the county and helping it to flourish.

“We have put together a truly valuable prize package with help from the Northern Mentoring Programme and Sales Geek. Winners will receive the type of support that would take any business to the next level and help with personal growth too!”Stephanie Whitworth, marketing manager at headline sponsor Fat Media said: “We are very proud sponsors once again for the Sub36 Awards 2019. We know that there is so much young talent in Lancashire – we see it every day both in our own team and those of the businesses we work with.

“The Sub36 Awards are a fantastic way to highlight these achievements, and give those individuals the recognition they deserve not just amongst their colleagues, but across the region.”

The Northern Mentoring Programme is a project by Community & Business Partners which pairs growing businesses with experienced entrepreneurs who have been there and worn the t-shirt.

Jaydee Davis, operations manager for the Northern Mentoring Programme commented: “We are delighted to hear such great feedback in regards to the winners mentoring this last year and the difference it has made to winners.

“Winning is a huge achievement and being able to continue with your personal development and business growth journey with an experienced business mentor following this is a truly unique to the Sub36 Awards and we are very excited to be able to offer this for a second year.”

The Sales Geek Academy provides specialist sales advice, knowledge and training delivered by experienced professionals.

Richard Few of Sales Geek said: “Going through the Sub36 awards journey has been a catalyst for growth, new ideas, new people and new clients but even more than that was the confidence and subsequent self-belief to be acknowledged by such a respected process.

“Following on from our incredible experience with the Sub36 Awards and mentoring programme we are delighted to offer all 2019 award winners a golden ticket to access our Sales Geek academy for a full 12 months.”

Laura Leyland of Fresh Perspective, who was named Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2018 Sub36 Awards, said: “Winning the award was the best feeling ever. I still feel emotional when I think about the moment they announced my name.

“My mentor has been wonderful. It’s been extremely useful to have someone who I look up to and respect to bounce ideas off and talk about challenges and successes. He’s also given me some great ideas that have and will continue to help me and the business grow.”
