Changes To Special Delivery Guaranteed® & Royal Mail Signed For® Via Franking Machines

As part of Royal Mail’s modernisation programme, from midnight on 31st October 2022, coloured adhesive labels will no longer be used by franking machine users for Special Delivery Guaranteed® and Royal Mail Signed For® products.

As part of Royal Mail’s modernisation programme, from midnight on 31st October 2022, coloured adhesive labels will no longer be used by franking machine users for Special Delivery Guaranteed® and Royal Mail Signed For® products.

Where franking machine users currently select Special Delivery Guaranteed® & Royal Mail Signed For® services on their franking machine but then need to attach a separate sticker to obtain these additional services, from 1st November, Royal Mail are introducing new, wider franking machine indicia that will include not only the Mailmark® barcode but also an S10 1D barcode, additional product name information and new alpha-numeric content within the visual service indicator boxes.

Here are the current and future indicia:

This means that franking machine users will be able to frank their mail with their Mailmark® barcode and the S101 1D barcode for the Special Delivery Guaranteed® or Royal Mail Signed For® services directly from their franking machines onto an envelope or franking label with no need to affix a separate service sticker.

Further details about this change will be published nearer the time. In the meantime, please contact us if you have any questions.
