DIB panel discuss Clean Air Agenda

Downtown Liverpool hosted an event to discuss Liverpool’s Clean Air Agenda and the Combined Authorities plans going forward.

Downtown in Business Liverpool hosted an event to discuss the city regions Clean Air Agenda and the Combined Authorities plans moving forward at a leaders lunch seminar earlier this week.

The event, Sponsored by Merseyrail and ESA Space Solutions, took place at Gino D’Acampo Old Hall Street, and reflected on issues that had led to the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority being the first in the country to declare a climate emergency.

Speakers at the event included Councillor Liam Robinson, Chair for the Transport Committee and Councillor Lena Simic, Chair of Climate Change and Environment Select Committee, Alan Cross from ESA Business Applications and Greg Suligowski from Merseyrail.

Topics discussed at the event included Merseyrail’s CO2 agenda and how important it is for them to be an environmentally friendly train operator and how businesses can utilise the European Space Agency to improve their own green agendas.

Councillor Liam Robinson discussed how the city is exploring ways to converts its CO2 emissions into renewable energy, whilst City Councillor Lena Simic highlighted how 60% of Liverpool’s Carbon emissions come from static energy.
