The countdown is on for the City of Birmingham Business Awards -with Downtown in Business issuing a final call for nominations ahead of the official shortlist announcement next week.

The prestigious awards programme celebrates the companies, entrepreneurs, and organisations helping to drive Birmingham’s economy forward and shining a spotlight on the very best of the city’s thriving business community.

Downtown in Business chief executive Frank McKenna said the response so far had been outstanding, but urged businesses to make sure they did not miss the final opportunity to enter or nominate deserving companies and individuals.

McKenna said:

“Birmingham is one of the UK’s great business cities and these awards are about recognising the people and organisations making a real impact across the region.

“From property and professional services to hospitality, technology, manufacturing, and the creative industries, Birmingham continues to demonstrate resilience, ambition, and innovation and it is important that success is properly recognised and celebrated.”

DIB Birmingham chair Rob Valentine added:

“We’ve already received a huge number of high-quality nominations, which reflects the strength and diversity of the city’s business community.

“However, this is the final opportunity for businesses to put themselves forward or nominate colleagues, clients, and partners before entries close and the shortlists are revealed next week.”

The City of Birmingham Business Awards have become one of the most anticipated events in the regional business calendar, bringing together senior leaders from across the public and private sectors for an afternoon of celebration, networking, and recognition.

Downtown in Business is also encouraging companies to secure tickets early for the awards ceremony, with demand expected to be high once the finalists are announced.

The event, sponsored by Mr & Mrs Gray, take place on the afternoon of Friday 30th October at the Park Regis Hotel.

McKenna concluded:

“These awards matter because they showcase the confidence, energy, and talent that exists in Birmingham. The city continues to move forward at pace, with major investment, regeneration, and business growth helping to shape an exciting future.

“We are looking forward to revealing the shortlists next week and celebrating the outstanding achievements of Birmingham businesses in style.”
