Downtown in Business was delighted to kick off Housing 2026 on 23 June 2026 at the beautiful Deansgate Hotel in Manchester, bringing together leaders from across the public and private sectors to discuss the future of housing delivery across the North West.
The event featured contributions from Nuala Gallagher, Corporate Director of City Development at Liverpool City Council, and Danielle Gillespie, Executive Regional Director for the North West at Homes England, who shared their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
The discussion explored a range of issues affecting housing and regeneration, including the importance of partnership working, investment, planning, infrastructure and the delivery of sustainable communities that support long-term growth. Attendees also heard how collaboration between local authorities, government agencies and the private sector will continue to play a vital role in unlocking development and accelerating housing delivery across the region.
As with all Downtown in Business events, the conversation was open, honest and forward-looking, providing valuable insights from senior decision-makers and industry leaders.
The event also provided an excellent opportunity for networking, allowing delegates to connect with colleagues and peers from across the housing, development and regeneration sectors.
Downtown in Business would like to thank Sutcliffe for partnering with us on this event and supporting another successful gathering of influential stakeholders from across the North West.
Housing 2026 marks the start of an exciting programme of discussions that will continue to examine the key issues shaping the future of housing, regeneration and economic growth throughout the year.
