Topic:

Discussing the evolution of the Liverpool city region, the impact on Health and looking forward to the future.

Over recent years, the Liverpool City Region has found itself coming up against some significant challenges brought about by changes in the economy.

Liverpool is currently one of the most deprived local authorities in England and that’s reflected in the poor levels of health and wellbeing that many residents are facing since poor health outcomes are often linked to other social and economic deprivations.

Chief Executive of the Liverpool City Council Andew Lewis believes we have a responsibility to address these issues at the cause. He previously worked at Cheshire West and Chester council which is recognised as one of the country’s most effective councils, and frequently partners with Liverpool on issues such as transport, low carbon industry and health integration.

Andrew’s experience makes him a great authority to speak on some of the most pressing issues facing the region that need to be addressed to improve quality of life for residents.

With the right approach and support, Downtown firmly believes that both businesses and individuals can overcome modern challenges and turn the current economic climate to their advantage to create a better city region for all.
