Poke Marketing has worked with PLACED to launch an exciting new website for the 2021 PLACED Environmental Academy. The site is a place where the voices of inspiring, creative thinking people determined to make real change for the better are showcased.
The PLACED Academy is a free-to-access, creative programme about the built environment for 14-18-year-olds, empowering young people to shape the places we live, work, and spend time. It is designed to increase participants’ self-esteem, break down barriers to professional careers, expose participants to a variety of career routes and develop a broad range of skills.
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Metro Mayor are the primary funders of the 2021 programme, with support from Partner Regenda Homes and 17 sponsors.
Jo Harrop, Director of PLACED said “The 2021 Environmental Academy focuses on how design in the built environment can have a positive impact on climate change. Our young participants have worked together to develop and deliver a programme of online community engagement to understand other people’s views before developing designs ideas that they believe could create better, more sustainable places.”
Mark Harrington, Creative Director of Poke Marketing said “… These ideas showcase real-world scenarios and potential ideas for solving problems. They really emphasise the power of creative thinking. We wanted to create a beautiful site that allows communities to have a look at the projects and get involved. The site, Home – PLACED Academy 2021 (PLACED-academy-2021.com), harnesses people’s opinions which is so key to the success of this project…” Poke Marketing won this project following a competitive tender and the work included workshops and strategy sessions, the website look and feel, the copy and the site build. It was all developed and tested in a 4 week timescale.
