The Northwest television icon, Lucy Meacock, will present the Downtown in Business ‘Women in Business’ Awards 2024, which take place on Friday 8th March, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Liverpool.
Lucy has been the presenter of Granada Reports for an incredible forty years, and she has won two BAFTA TV awards, one for coverage of the Hillsborough disaster.
DIB group Chair and chief executive Frank McKenna said:
“I am absolutely thrilled that Lucy has agreed to present the WIBAs this year. We have tried to get her to do events with us for years, but her busy schedule has never allowed it to happen.
“I first met Lucy when she was presenting ‘Up Front’ back in the Nineties, which she did alongside our wonderful mutual friend Tony Wilson. We have stayed in touch ever since, and it will be an absolute pleasure to share a stage with her in Liverpool later this year.”
