Mansell Finishes has been awarded ISO, FIRAS and Achilles accreditations following recent independent assessments.

Mansell Finishes has been awarded ISO, FIRAS and Achilles accreditations following recent independent assessments.

The ISO9001:2015, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditations have been re-issued following a successful quality assessment of business procedures and an audit of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS). First awarded to the company in February 2009, the accreditations were added to in 2017 to include the assembly and installation of structural framing systems (SFS) in addition to the previously recognised plastering, rendering, drylining and suspended ceilings.

A voluntary certification, FIRAS certification started in 1994 and has been instrumental in improving the standards of installation of fire protection products and systems to the benefit of the construction industry. Accredited by UKAS, Mansell’s assessment involved a three-stage audit process including office management systems, workmanship on site for all trade disciplines and the competence of supervisory and installation employees. As a result of achieving accreditation, Mansell has registered Block 2 of the £85million Manchester New Square scheme on the FIRAS scheme, a development on which the company is currently undertaking major on-site works.

In proving its commitment to sustainability, an efficient supply chain and business performance, Mansell has also been awarded Achilles certification. Also a voluntary certification, Achilles was awarded following a two day audit on numerous areas of business operations including management procedures, legislation and other compliance requirements, quality management controls, training and competence, social and ethical behaviour, sustainability, supply chain management and emergency preparedness.

Procedures and processes, driven from the senior management team down throughout the company, support Mansell’s commitment to safety, health, quality and the environment with the company’s IMS providing a framework to drive superior standards in the business.

Angela Mansell, Operations Director at Mansell Finishes, comments: “As a company we have a considerable responsibility to our people, suppliers and clients – in fact everyone that we come into contact with – as we go about our day to day business. We have always been totally committed to our SHEQ responsibilities and as a senior management team are keen to go further than regulations dictate. This is why we have voluntarily taken it upon ourselves to be audited and assessed above and beyond the usual industry obligations and this will only give all who we deal with significant confidence that we are a great company to do business with and one that will look after everyone’s interests.”
