Charity Calls for Law Firms to Join Its Annual ‘Make a Will Month’

A charity which cares for children and families across the West Midlands is appealing for law firms from across the region to join its annual ‘Make a Will Month’ scheme.

A charity which cares for children and families across the West Midlands is appealing for law firms from across the region to join its annual ‘Make a Will Month’ scheme.

Each year Acorns Children Hospice invites local law firms to become ‘Make a Will Month’ partners by providing a free will writing service throughout the month of October.

Members of the public who sign up for the scheme are then invited to make a voluntary donation towards Acorns vital work caring for children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions.

Christina White, Senior Manager, Individual Giving and Legacies, at Acorns, said: “Make a Will Month is a great way for local law firms to give back by playing a crucial role in Acorns fundraising efforts.

“It’s also an opportunity for firms to find potential new clients. It’s not just about wills; it introduces clients to other legal services they may want or need in the future.”

Acorns Children’s Hospice offers a network of specialist palliative care and support for babies, children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions, as well as support for their families.

It costs the charity £27,000 per day to provide its care and services and it relies heavily on the generosity of local businesses and the community for the majority of this amount.
