ACC Liverpool is calling on city support as it is in the running for the Best UK Conference Centre at a national awards.
The M&IT Awards, hosted by events magazine Meetings and Incentive Travel, is considered the Oscars of the meetings industry, celebrating the best UK venues, destinations and suppliers. ACC Liverpool has scooped gold six times, beating off stiff competition from other UK venues.
Bob Prattey, chief executive of The ACC Liverpool Group, said: “We have delivered more than £1.8bn in economic impact to the region by hosting thousands of events – including large national and international conferences – welcoming more than 1 million delegates into the city since we opened in 2008.
“We continue to work closely with colleagues across the city to ensure Liverpool remains a leading business tourism destination.
“Scooping this accolade for a lucky seventh time would reflect the whole city approach and would be a welcome and much deserved win for the region as well as for our organisation.”
