Ahead of Taste Liverpool. Drink Bordeaux which takes place across Liverpool on the Jubilee bank holiday weekend, Barnacle have revealed a special prix fixe menu curated by Chef Patron of The Art School Paul Askew and Master Sommelier Nigel Wilkinson for Sunday June 5th.

Fresh from celebrating its inclusion in the Michelin Guide, Barnacle continues to tell the story of Liverpool’s gastronomic culture. And as Taste Liverpool. Drink Bordeaux is set to unite the city’s vibrant hospitality scene over four days, Barnacle continues to explore its wonderful provenance and history, from the city region’s storied past to its innovative present with a thriving and diverse food and drink scene.

Paul Askew explains: “We said from the beginning with Barnacle we wanted to talk about  how and why Liverpool has become such an important destination, inspired by the port trade which brought so many ingredients, flavours and styles here over many decades from all over the world. Our festival menu on Sunday 5th June is embodying this, and we are incredibly proud to have Nigel Wilkinson pairing the wines – he’s one of a handful of Master Sommeliers and it’s a real privilege to work together with him on this menu. We recently unveiled Katherine Caldwell’s incredible map of the city region and it shows the abundance of local farms, artisans and cultivators we are lucky to have on our doorstep – it’s their stories we want to tell and bring them on to every plate and glass served at Barnacle.”

Since launching in December 2021, the intimate Scouse brasserie has crafted an elegant space in the city’s dining scene, a bastion for sustainability and creativity which tells the story of the region’s food and drink provenance.

Barnacle is helmed by a collective of leading chefs from across the city, with The Art School’s Paul Askew, Bone and Block’s Harry Marquart and local kitchen stars Kieran Gill and Jake Lewis bringing their unique vision to the city.
