Regional law firm Napthens is expanding its service in Sefton and West Lancs with a move to larger premises as it plans for further growth.

Napthens first opened on Hoghton Street in Southport over three years ago when it acquired local firm Richard Jacklin & Co.

Since then it has grown its presence in the town.with Wills and Estate Planning specialist Liz Byrne leading the expansion of the private client offering and earlier this year Commercial Property partner Tony Coates joining to spearhead the development of the firm’s commercial services in Sefton and West Lancs.  Meanwhile, the conveyancing team has grown from one part-time lawyer to a five-strong specialist team.

This year saw turnover treble from when the office opened under the Napthens brand in February 2016.

Now the firm is moving to larger premises of around 3,000 sq ft, also on Hoghton Street, in a bid to build on these foundations and further grow the firm’s presence in Southport and across the Merseyside area.

Shru Morris, Napthens CEO, said: “We see Southport and Merseyside as important opportunities for growth in the region.

“Our Southport office has brought a new breed of legal services provider to the town.  Our specialist service offering is supported by experts from across the firm to include areas such as rural business and licensing and has proved an attraction to local individuals and businesses.

“Following significant growth, the time was right to make this important investment into our future in the area.  Building on our success, we have a real opportunity for further expansion as we continue to strengthen relationships within the local business community and welcome new clients.

“We expect to recruit more staff as demand grows.  In the last couple of months Natasha Athey has joined as conveyancing executive, Lucy Biggs joined as an assistant in the commercial property team and solicitor Stephanie Gray has moved across from Preston to support Tony on commercial property.”

Napthens opened its Liverpool office at The Plaza, Old Hall Street, in early 2018, and since then has taken on a number of new staff including two employment experts.
