INNSiDE by Meliá launch INNSiDE Road Runners

A free, social, guided 5km group run, starting and ending at INNSiDE UK hotels in Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.

INNSiDE by Meliá, part of Meliá Hotels International, has launched INNSiDE Road Runners – a new wellness initiative to encourage INNSiDE hotel guests to see the city at pace, all while meeting like-minded people and exploring the local area.

Taking place across INNSiDE UK hotels in Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, the first INNSiDE Road Runners event will take place, in synchronisation, on Sunday 4th August. A free, social, guided 5km group run around the INNSiDE city, starting and ending at the hotel.

Following the run, participants can enjoy a complimentary hydration session at each of the hotels, including fresh fruit, juices and pastries – a moment to wind down and give run club members and hotel guests and opportunity to socialise.

At INNSiDE UK, each stay is enriched with music, art, lifestyle and wellness curated by the hotel’s local experts. INNSiDE Road Runners is in collaboration with local running communities Dockside Runners, Croissant Club Manchester and Croissant Club Newcastle.

A recent survey* conducted in March 2024, found that 22% of the UK population say they run one to three times per week. In line with this growing trend, and guest feedback, the new initiative is in keeping with INNSiDE by Melia’s philosophy ‘Stay Curious’, which promises to accommodate guests’ every need with considered comforts and locally inspired experiences.

Dockside Runners is a free and inclusive running collective based in the heart of Liverpool City Centre. The collective have risen to become an established part of the Liverpool running community for over ten years, and have a diverse group of runners from complete beginners to seasoned athletes. Runners take on an array of challenges from 5k parkruns to 100 mile ultras and everything in between.

Croissant Run Club is a fun, sociable running community across the United Kingdom and worldwide, with groups in Manchester and Newcastle. Born from their love of croissants and wanting to make running fun and social without having the pressure of hitting a personal best, Croissant Run Club was born – with all runs ending with a delicious pastry.

All running events in Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle will begin at 10am on Sunday 4th August from the INNSiDE hotel.
