Touchwood Solihull is welcoming the Lunar New Year this February with two days of traditional celebrations for the whole family to enjoy.

On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February 2024, the centre will be hosting a range of activities to welcome in strength, power and success – all key symbols of the Year of the Wood Dragon.

The celebrations commence with a traditional Lion Dance performance and fan dancers in the centre on 10th February at 11:15am, followed by Chinese classic dances, instruments with folk singing, and a Dragon Dance. And make sure to keep your eyes peeled as the dragon will be roaming the Centre following its performance!

In the afternoon, visitors can take part in a Tai Chi workshop and dragon puppet making class to put their self-defence and crafting skills to the test.

Guests will also have the opportunity to take photos with the Lion Dance and Dragon Dance performers around Touchwood’s malls, while enjoying the live entertainment and diverse shopping offer.

Touchwood’s Marketing Manager, Lucy Burnett, said: “Lunar New Year has always been a key date in our calendar, and one we enjoy celebrating every year. We look forward to welcoming in the New Year with traditional celebrations and wishing a prosperous year ahead to all of our visitors.”
