Gary Neville has been confirmed as one of the keynote speakers for DIBs first national property and regeneration conference which will take place at the Belfry on 9th September.

Gary Neville has been confirmed as one of the keynote speakers for DIBs first national property and regeneration conference which will take place at the Belfry on 9th September.

Best known now for his football punditry on Sky Sports, Neville has significant business interests in both the property and hospitality sectors – as well as owning his own football club.

In addition, he has been active in the recently established UnitedCity group whose key objective is to see a successful return of economic activity in our major towns and cities.

Other confirmed speakers at the event include Tom Bloxham of Urban Splash, Sir Howard Bernstein and the chief executive of HS2 Mark Thurston.

Many leaders and chief executives of local government agencies from across the country will also be in attendance for the one-day event with further speakers will be announced.

£76m spent in Liverpool’s food and drink in Q1

Next week Liverpool Restaurant Week begins. Running from 22-28 April over 75 venues are taking part with hundreds of offers for people to download and enjoy. 

The value of the sector to the city centre economy is laid bare in data from Liverpool BID Company (and platform Beauclair) which analyses UK spend data. 

Food and Drink is now the largest economic sector in the city centre, around 37%. UK card holders spent a whopping £76m in just three months in the city centre’s restaurants and bars.
